Peninsula Health is the major health care provider serving Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. It has close to 800 beds and provides a wide range of tertiary services from obstetrics to aged care, rehabilitation, emergency and intensive care, oncology, psychiatric services and Hospital in the Home. In addition Peninsula Health is a major provider of community health services, through the Frankston, Rosebud, Mornington and Hastings Community Health Services. Peninsula Health has many facilities across a number of sites, and the organisation is structured to offer integrated health care providing a wide range of coordinated services to the community.
As well as providing quality, accessible health care services it is a teaching hospital and has a history of contributing to medical research.
Peninsula Health has demonstrated considerable leadership in working with partner organisations and services. It has provided strong leadership in community participation, area based planning, and has been involved in project and partner work to identify service needs and promote provision of the right care at the right time in the right (accessible) place.
Peninsula Health is a founding partner and key stakeholder in the Peninsula Model. At the strategy layer it convenes the catchment wide Primary Care Population Health Committee (PCPHC) which engages with a broad range of health and community organisations across the catchment. It is also member of the Peninsula Model Executive Group (PMEG).
Peninsula Health is represented on all Alliances and has a strong commitment to service redevelopment, and to partnerships work that provides benefits to consumers and the service system.
