Frankston-Mornington Peninsula Medicare Local
Frankston-Mornington Peninsula Medicare Local (FMPML) is an independent, locally operated organisation, working to improve access to primary care in the community.
FMPML works closely with the local health network, government, community and social services to help make it easier for local community to access the health services they need closer to home. Programs and services are guided by the overarching goal to bring GPs, Allied Health Professionals and other health care professionals together to deliver improved services to the catchment.
In 2011, the Primary Care Partnership began work on developing a multi agency planning process to improve integration of disparate plans, reduce duplication of efforts and strengthen collaboration. The establishment of FMPML has been instrumental in expanding the thinking around the structure and governance of a model to enable a functional primary health care planning framework for the catchment. FMPML recognises the importance of continued partnerships and is committed to being a Founding Partner and active participant of the Peninsula Model.
